A strong partnership: with a view to ensuring local control of development, Acting for Life seeks to make its partners independent and responsible for their own initiatives and actions. It supports local partners in their strategic analysis and design of relevant activities to achieve their objectives. Consequently, it restricts itself to providing technical, organizational and human support on request and making regular monitoring visits, as well as supplying written information or training according to the wishes of partners and stakeholders. In addition, Acting for Life makes arrangements to send experts on mission, depending on partners' specific needs, to help them with both analysis and carrying out their activities.
Links between government, local authorities, civil society organizations and private enterprise : support is offered from a development perspective capable of meeting the needs expressed by each local stakeholder. Acting for Life seeks to foster co-ordination and co-operation between all public and private stakeholders.
Networking between development actors: Acting for Life : Acting for Life believes in alliances between NGOs from the North and South so as to bring in more expertise, increase the impact of its work and supply more sustainable support to its partners in the South. The goal of establishing networks, which may include development practitioners and researchers, is systematically pursued. Networking enhances the quality of operations and allows other NGOs and stakeholders to learn from existing experience, whether positive or negative.
